Your Outputs
Six deliverables from this module
Great PMs leave artefacts their team can reference, challenge, and build on. These six documents prove you have completed Design Thinking, not just learned about it.
Problem Statement
A single written definition: who has this problem, what they need, why they cannot currently get it, and how success will be measured. Produced at Define.
Assumption Map
A 2Γ2 grid of all assumptions plotted by importance and certainty. Top-left quadrant drives the prototype plan. Every initiative needs one before sprint planning.
User Empathy Map
A four-quadrant canvas (Say, Think, Do, Feel) that makes qualitative research shareable and actionable across the team. Produced at Empathize.
Prototype Brief
A one-page document specifying: what assumption is being tested, what type of prototype to build, success criteria, and what a failed test looks like. Written before any prototype work begins.
Test Plan & Results Log
Pre-defined success criteria, participant criteria, tasks users complete, and a structured log for observations. Results determine the Pivot / Persevere / Stop call.
Discovery Summary Deck
A stakeholder-facing summary of what was learned, what decisions were made, and what the team will build next and why. The PMβs primary communication deliverable from discovery.
